Guidelines for the use of ‘Urban Soul’ name

Urban Soul exists to empower this generation to perform indiscriminate acts of kindness for the good of the community

Urban Soul is an active citizenship programme for youth (15 years+ only). By partnering with local communities, we seek to serve their aims and empower them to achieve their dreams. Urban Soul gathers young people who are passionate about social action through projects like area clean-ups, painting over graffiti, running community events etc.

The underlying values that motivate and guide Urban Soul are those taught and demonstrated by Jesus. His life and message show us that loving God is just the beginning and that we are also called to actively love our neighbours.

Urban Soul seeks to deliver hope, bestow dignity, bring equality of opportunity & inspire long-term change.

In order to maintain the underlying ethos of Urban Soul we ask potential organizers to keep the above in mind and agree to stay within the following guidelines.

• Prior to using the Urban Soul name it is essential to meet with and engage in ongoing consultations with at least one member of the core planning team of Urban Soul Dublin.
• Urban Soul is a non-denominational movement. Committed Christians organize the events but participation should be open to anyone who wishes to serve the community.
• Urban Soul projects should be done in partnership and cooperation with local community groups and civic authorities. Projects should not be opportunities to ‘parachute’ people into an area to do whatever they themselves deem necessary.
• Urban Soul community projects should not be seen as opportunities to distribute tracts, preach, fundraise etc. Serving the community in and of itself speaks loudly of the love of God being shown through His people. Loving others without an agenda.
• Urban Soul events should show due diligence to all appropriate Health, Safety and Child Protection needs.
